Iris at Sting My Heart, Thankful Thursday’s home base, mentioned the song "Blessed Be Your Name" in her post today. Immediately my toes started tapping as the song played through my head. It’s one of my all time favorites. I will bless the Lord not only "when the sun’s shining down on me", but also "on the road marked with suffering."
It’s been an up and down week, but I have so much to be thankful for.
1. My husband was offered a new job. The pay isn’t great to start off, but it’s in a field that he loves, and he could go far with it. It’s definitely better than where he’s working now. I thank the Lord that he will finally have a job he enjoys again.
2. My husband and I are both pretty much over our illnesses. It was a tough week, being down sick, but my kids were a huge help around the house. And now we’re on the mend.
3. God’s provision. Every time I balance the checkbook, I am amazed that we still have money left at the end of the month. Things have been tight, but God always provides. I don’t know how He does it, but that’s why He’s God, and I am not.
4. I’m thankful that my daughter has a good friend. This time of year is always a little nerve wracking with kids going back to school. My daughter is in public school, and I’m constantly worried about the influences there. Her friend is a very good influence, and they weather the trials of grade school together.
5. God is with me always, no matter where I go, even when I try to hide from Him. I am always in His presence, and he cares for me, no matter how bad my attitude is. I can’t help but be thankful for His unconditional love.
Be blessed with more Thankful Thursday by heading over to Sting My Heart!

Yes, I’ve had Blessed be Your Name in my head all day too! It sounds like God is providing in some major ways–praise God for that!

Welcome to BlogHer, Lynnae! I’m the Life Contributing Editor, and will be featuring your beautiful blog tomorrow morning at BlogHer.org.
I am so thankful for so many things. I am thankful for my two beautiful boys at home, my three children in college, for my brand-new job teaching middle school (a 7th/8th combo class) that begins this Monday (eeeeek!).
Isn’t life cool?
Big hugs,
Birdie

You know, the song “Blessed Be you Name” has much more impact then I have ever thought…I know that many of us ‘belong’ to different denominations, but we belong only to One…it is so comforting to know that I am not the only one who is going the valley sometimes.
How awesome that your beloved found a new job he will enjoy-what a blessing.
Glad that you are doing better health wise
Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.
Blessings to you and yours this Sunday evening.
