Praying Through the Week of August 19

August 19, 2007

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

First, a praise report.  Last week I prayed for Parker.  This week I was happy to read that Parker is now home.

I also prayed for Dylan.  He has had an up and down week.  He had an ultrasound on his kidneys, and it showed that they are enlarged.  He’s also continuing to fight a fever.

This week Heather needs our prayers, as she begins a year of chemotherapy.  Chemo is never easy, but she has a fantastic attitude.  I always learn a lot about having a good attitude when I visit her blog.

Also Denise just had eye surgery, and the healing process isn’t going as well as she had hoped.  Her husband is updating her blog while she is unable to write.

If you have a prayer request, feel free to leave a comment, and I will be glad to pray for you this week.

Heavenly Father,

I just thank You for your sovereignty.  I thank You that we are always in Your hands, even when we don’t understand why bad things are happening.  I thank You that we can trust You completely.

I praise You that Parker was able to leave the hospital this week.  I pray that You would meet the needs of his family.  Provide them with the medical equipment they need, and give them the resources to buy his special formula.

I pray for Dylan right now.  I pray that the news on his kidneys isn’t too bad.  I also pray that his fever will break soon.  Strengthen his little body.  Give his family the strength to take care of him.  Please comfort Dylan and his family during this trying time.

Father, I lift up Heather to You this week.  I pray that You would give her the strength and courage that she needs as she undergoes chemotherapy.  I pray that the side effects wouldn’t be bad, and that You would just surround her with people to encourage her and to help her out when she needs it.  I also pray that the chemotherapy would do it’s job, and that her tumor would be gone forever.

I also life up Denise to you.  Help her to recover quickly from her surgery.  I pray that her stomach would settle, her blood sugar would stabilize, and that her eyesight would get better.  Bless her husband also as he takes care of her during this time.

We know that all things are possible through You, and we praise You for that.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

I love that you do this Lynnae.

This week, if you could keep Gabi’s family in your prayers. Gabi is an 8 month old little girl with Down Syndrome who passed away yesterday.

No problem, Tammy. He’s never far from my thoughts.

And Megan, I saw a link to Gabi’s blog on another site yesterday. Heartbreaking. I have the site flagged, so I will remember to include Gabi’s family Sunday. And I’m already praying for them, of course.
