Coming Wednesday: Tip or Treating!

I was talking with my friend Kandy a couple of weeks ago, and she came up with a great idea for Halloween: Tip or Treating. We talked about different ways to go about doing it, and then I sort of forgot about it.

A few days later I was stumbling through the internet, and I read this blog post about Christians and Halloween. The article really hit home for me. We live in a society where people don’t get out and get to know their neighbors. We live in our own little worlds, and I don’t think it’s a good thing.

The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea of using Halloween as an opportunity for getting to know people. And then I remembered Kandy’s idea. So this is what is going to happen. On Halloween, I will post a post here, probably leaving a blog tip. I will put a Mister Linky up (I hope….I’ve never done it before) for participants. To participate, you may either post a “tip” (a blogging tip) or a “treat” (something nice about a fellow blogger). I hope if you are posting treats, you will pick bloggers that you don’t know very well. I want to encourage people to get to know each other better.

I also hope that as you read through the tips and treats, you will comment on each other’s blogs. Get to know your blogging neighbors! You never know what friendships will be formed!

And I know the article that I link to is Christian based, but you do not have to be a Christian to participate. I just want people to get to know each other, regardless of faith. So think of those blog tips and nice things to say, and I’ll meet you back here on Wednesday!
